Intel is planning to release DIMMs (dual in-line memory modules) featuring 3D XPoint memory early in the next year. Due to its relatively high price, initial primary market for Intel Optane will be enterprise users, data centers, PC enthusiasts, high-end gamers, graphics designers and others who need large amounts of fast memory.
